The International Maritime Organization’s highlighted-incidents board, as at Friday, 30 October, now prints 122 confirmed incidents in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Middle East, with 24 confirmed seafarer fatalities. Tuesday’s dedicated board piece on this desk sat at 121 as at 27 October, with Leonora Kosan as the newest named row. The fatality line has not moved. What moved is the count by one, and one new named row at the top of the table. IMO now prints GHANA PROSPERITY, IMO 9732541, dated 23 October, Strait of Hormuz, damaged, no pollution. That is a second Ghana Prosperity row on the same sheet. The 3 October Strait of Hormuz row for the same IMO number is still there. Saturday is the first official IMO print of a 23 October confirmed incident against this hull.
The count is an IMO product. It is not a UKMTO warning, not a JMIC Update 110, and not a rewrite of Monday 26 October’s dedicated Warning 182-26, Saturday 25 October’s dedicated NAVAREA IX 404/26 Musandam anchorage, Tuesday’s 121-count, or this morning’s dedicated 189-26 and 775/26 pieces. UKMTO’s recent-incidents board still ends at Warning 189-26. Update 109, JMIC# 001 26, ICOD 291300 UTC 29 October, remains the last numbered public periodic note and is unused as a dedicated file on this desk. That is a different counter from IMO’s 122. Masters who brief Saturday afternoon as Update 110, as UKMTO finally printing Ghana Prosperity on the original 182-26 PDF, as a completed 29–30 October tape, or as a Hormuz reopen will have misread the instrument.
What the 30 October board actually adds
Tuesday’s page was 121 confirmed incidents, 24 dead, with LEONORA KOSAN as the operational naming of that snapshot and with SOYIA, CHLOE (MIVERVA V), AL DASMA, JIF BARRACUDA, LOYALTY, ST3, GFS PRIDE, GFS GISELLE, AL SAADIYAT, DP WORLD KAVERI, KITION M, EVER VICT, AL MAQAM, ANGOLA PROSPERITY and PETRO DOLPHIN already on the sheet. Friday’s page is 122. The increment is one confirmed incident. One new named row sits at the top of the table, above Leonora Kosan. That arithmetic is cleaner than the 114-to-119 jump, which added five confirmed incidents and printed only three new names. One increment from that +5 is still unnamed on this public sheet. Do not invent it. Do not treat the +1 as a silent conversion of 185-26, 186-26, 187-26, 188-26 or 189-26. Those UKMTO products remain unnamed on this board. Do not treat the +1 as a RITI, Quba or Contship Jet conversion. Those hulls do not belong on this Middle East table.
The new row is GHANA PROSPERITY, IMO 9732541, 23 October, Strait of Hormuz, damaged, no pollution. The same hull already sits lower on the sheet as 3 October, Strait of Hormuz, damaged, no pollution. Al Dasma is the other hull on this board that already carries a second-attack geometry: 7 September and 20 October. Saturday’s increment is the same pattern against a Sinokor VLCC, not a first-time naming. Saturday 25 October’s dedicated NAVAREA IX 404/26 already placed this named hull at anchor in 26-17.052N 056-33.35E, about 4.5 nautical miles south of Jazirat Musandam, after a security incident; 410/26 later cancelled that caution. Monday 26 October’s dedicated Warning 182-26 remains an unnamed outbound-Hormuz Attack, 0839 UTC 23 October, tanker disabled by an unknown projectile, crew reported safe, no damage assessment or environmental-impact report. IMO does not print 182-26, 0839 UTC, “disabled,” a Verified time-late line, a crew-safe line, a Musandam offset or an attacker. It prints Ghana Prosperity, 9732541, damaged, no pollution, Strait of Hormuz, on a 23 October date. That is a tighter hull finding than the PDF, and it matches the PDF’s silence on a named cargo grade. It is not a completed class survey. It is not a UKMTO PDF revision.
Hold the clocks. UKMTO dates 182-26 to 23 October 0839 UTC. IMO dates the new Ghana Prosperity row to 23 October without a time. Dedicated 404/26 used a 240230 UTC 24 October DTG for an undated security incident and an anchorage, and that notice is no longer in force. Those are three official instruments, not one collapsed Attack. Do not invent which UKMTO number is this 23 October IMO row. The PDF has not been revised. Do not collapse Leonora Kosan onto this increment because both sit on a 23 October date. Leonora Kosan remains Tuesday’s dedicated 121-count print: IMO 9390953, 6 nautical miles northeast of Limah, damaged, no pollution, against the 181-26 Limah geometry. Different hull, different offset, different dedicated file.
The rest of Tuesday’s sheet is still there. LEONORA KOSAN remains 23 October, IMO 9390953, 6 NM northeast of Limah, damaged, no pollution. SOYIA remains 20 October, IMO 9263916, 30 NM southeast of Al Faw, damaged, no pollution. CHLOE (MIVERVA V) remains 19 October, IMO 9315367, 121 NM from the coast of Oman, damaged, no pollution. AL DASMA remains 20 October, IMO 9653446, Strait of Hormuz, second attack, damaged, no pollution, with the 7 September first-attack row still on the board. JIF BARRACUDA remains 18 October, IMO 9345506, northeast of Khor Fakkan, damaged, no pollution, one seafarer injured. LOYALTY remains 16 October, IMO 9182306, 78 NM northeast of Al Jubail, damaged, no pollution. ST3 remains 16 October, IMO 9220964, 68 NM from Al Jubail, damaged, no pollution. GFS PRIDE remains sunk, no pollution. PETRO DOLPHIN remains two seafarers missing at Sohar Anchorage. GEM NO. 2 remains 9 October, IMO 9735373, 13 NM west of Al Jazeera, damaged. Cameroon Prosperity is still printed with the eight-digit IMO typo 93151598; the working seven-digit number on earlier dedicated files is 9315159. CAPE DAO remains 23 September, IMO 9219020, 15 NM northeast of Khasab, sunk, no pollution, one seafarer fatality. The fatality total is still 24. None of those rows is the 122-count move. The move is the one-incident increment and the second Ghana Prosperity print at the top.
Ghana Prosperity is an IMO print, not a 182-26 PDF naming
Warning 182-26 remains an unnamed PDF. The working primary on that dedicated Monday file is still: ATTACK, 23 October 2026, 0839 UTC, source Verified, time-late, tanker, outbound Strait of Hormuz, unknown projectile, vessel disabled, crew reported safe, no damage assessment or environmental impact report at present. UKMTO printed neither a ship name, an IMO number, a flag, a cargo grade, a projectile type, a fire, a NUC or tow line, a Musandam offset nor an attacker. Saturday’s IMO row does not revise that PDF. A DPA who briefs Saturday afternoon as “UKMTO has now named 182-26” has over-read a highlighted-incidents table that does not print a warning number.
Update 109, unused as a dedicated file on this desk, already named GHANA PROSPERITY against 182-26 as wrap on that unused note: unknown projectile about 2 nautical miles off Musandam, outbound, disabled and anchored, crew safe. That is a JMIC naming on a periodic note whose ICOD is 291300 UTC 29 October. It is not this IMO board, and it is not a 182-26 PDF revision. IMO’s 30 October sheet is tighter on the hull and the pollution line and thinner on the geometry. It prints Strait of Hormuz and “damaged,” not “2 NM off Musandam,” not “disabled,” and not “anchored.” Hold the official lines separately. A DPA who briefs Update 109’s crew-safe and disabled lines as a completed IMO survey will over-read the board. A DPA who briefs IMO’s “damaged, no pollution” as a UKMTO revision of 182-26 will over-read the PDF. Neither product has been revised today.
Clearwater Dynamics Alert 038-(Oct 26) remains industry colour: the same 0839 UTC clock, aggressor tagged military, later update naming the Liberian-flagged tanker Ghana Prosperity, IMO 9732541. That colour is consistent with Saturday’s IMO print. It is not an IMO flag print and not a UKMTO naming. Ambrey’s 23 October 07:35 Oman territorial-waters merchant-vessel projectile colour remains a different clock. Do not collapse it onto this 23 October IMO row as a territorial-sea confirmation. Do not collapse it onto 182-26 as a PDF naming.
Open-register colour only, not an IMO flag or cargo print: Liberia, crude oil tanker, IMO 9732541, built 2016, about 333 metres, about 154,133 gt / 299,047 dwt, MMSI 636026121. Registers used on the dedicated 404/26 file list registered owner Haut Brion 6 SA, commercial manager Sinokor Maritime Co Ltd, and ISM manager Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd. That is a VLCC, not Leonora Kosan’s small LPG and not Soyia’s products tanker. Distinct from dedicated LEONORA KOSAN, IMO 9390953, Singapore-flag LPG, about 115 metres, 8,545 dwt, on the 23 October Limah row. Distinct from dedicated AL DASMA, IMO 9653446, Kuwait-flag, on the 20 October Strait second-attack row. Distinct from dedicated CAMEROON PROSPERITY, still the separate 4 October IMO row with the board’s 93151598 typo. Do not fold the two Prosperity hulls into one Saturday increment.
Dedicated 404/26 remains the first official NAVAREA that named this hull and gave a Musandam lat-long. It is no longer the working keep-clear. 410/26, the dedicated 28 October cancellation, cancelled 373/26, 403/26 and 404/26. Do not restore 26-17.052N 056-33.35E from Saturday’s IMO print. IMO printed neither an anchorage, a keep-clear radius, a wreck buoy nor a least depth against the new row. Do not invent a return-to-passage line because the hydrographic caution is withdrawn. Do not invent a wreck because the first Ghana Prosperity row and the second both print “damaged,” not “sunk.”
What this is not
This is not Warning 189-26. This morning’s dedicated UKMTO Attack is a time-late 28 October crude-oil-tanker projectile on an outbound Hormuz transit, time TBC, source Verified, no hull on the PDF. IMO has not taken that clock. This is not Warning 188-26, Friday night’s dedicated Lavan Island Attack, 40 nautical miles south of Lavan, Master, 1800 UTC 30 October. This is not Warning 187-26, Friday morning’s dedicated attached-device Attack 25 nautical miles northeast of Khasab. This is not unused Warning 186-26, the 29 October 1600 UTC CSO outbound-Hormuz projectile that still has no dedicated file on this desk. This is not Warning 185-26, Thursday’s dedicated Suspicious Activity fire 9 nautical miles north of Khasab. None of those numbers sits on the 30 October IMO sheet.
This is not NAVAREA IX 420/26. Last night’s dedicated RITI fire-and-anchor remains 26-24.07N 056-24.72E, about 1 nautical mile northwest of Ra’s Tahir. IMO has not printed RITI. This is not 417/26. Friday morning’s dedicated MSV Quba wreck remains 26-19.95N 056-16.82E. This is not this morning’s dedicated NAVWARN 775/26 two-hour Bulgarian territorial-sea e-mail, and it is not Thursday’s dedicated Contship Jet or Khoryv wrecks. Those Black Sea instruments do not belong on this Middle East table.
This is not Update 110. Update 109 remains the last numbered public periodic note, ICOD 291300 UTC 29 October. 186-26, 187-26, 188-26, 189-26 and 420/26 sit after that cut-off. This is not a 182-26 PDF revision. This is not a 404/26 restoration. This is not a fatality-count move. This is not a Hormuz reopen. Independent tracking colour and NCAGS facilitated-transit colour remain on the unused Update 109 note and on earlier dedicated JMIC files; Saturday’s board does not reprint them.
Operational implications
For CSOs, Saturday afternoon is the first IMO sheet that prints a second confirmed incident against Ghana Prosperity. Charterers, P&I and war-risk underwriters who have been holding the 3 October row as the only IMO print, 404/26 as a cancelled Musandam caution, and 182-26 as an unnamed disablement can now point to a 23 October IMO row on the same IMO number. They still cannot point to a UKMTO PDF that prints that name. They still cannot point to Update 110. The board’s pollution line is “no pollution.” That is tighter than 182-26, which had no environmental-impact report, and it matches the 3 October row. IMO printed neither a refuge port, a return-to-passage, a wreck, a NAVAREA number, a crew casualty nor an attacker against this second row. A 299,000-dwt crude tanker that now carries two IMO confirmed-incident dates is still a survey, tow, refuge and war-risk problem. “Damaged, no pollution” is not a completed class note and not a cargo-free finding.
The 122-count is also a reminder of what IMO has not yet taken. Warning 189-26 remains this morning’s dedicated unnamed time-late crude-oil-tanker Attack. Warning 188-26 remains last night’s dedicated unnamed Lavan projectile. Warning 187-26 remains Friday morning’s dedicated unnamed attached-device Attack. Unused 186-26 remains an unnamed CSO Attack. Warning 185-26 remains Thursday’s dedicated unnamed fire 9 nautical miles north of Khasab. Warning 176-26 remains an unnamed LNG tanker Attack off Al Mukalla. RITI remains last night’s dedicated NAVAREA fire-and-anchor. Quba remains Friday morning’s dedicated dhow wreck. One increment from the 114-to-119 jump is still unnamed. A master’s pack that treats 122 as “the 29–30 October tape is now official” will over-read the board. A pack that leaves the 23 October Ghana Prosperity row off the IMO sheet because 182-26 was unnamed will under-read it.
Replace the 27 October 121-count snapshot. Do not replace Update 109. ICOD remains 291300 UTC 29 October. Do not invent Update 110 because the IMO sheet moved one row after that cut-off. IMO’s 122 is not JMIC’s incident tally on Update 109. Leonora Kosan stays on the sheet as Tuesday’s dedicated Limah print. The 3 October Ghana Prosperity row stays on the sheet as the first confirmed incident against this IMO number. 410/26 stays the dedicated cancellation of the Musandam caution. 182-26 stays Monday’s dedicated unnamed disablement. Do not recast 31 October afternoon as Update 110, a 182-26 PDF naming, a 404/26 restoration, a 185-26 through 189-26 conversion, a fatality-count move, a rewrite of Tuesday’s 121-count, a rewrite of this morning’s 189-26 or 775/26, or a Hormuz reopen.
What Operators Should Note
- Log the 30 October IMO board, not a UKMTO naming. 122 confirmed incidents as at 30 October. 24 seafarers dead, unchanged from Tuesday’s 121-count. Replace the 27 October snapshot in the master’s pack. Do not replace JMIC Update 109. ICOD remains 291300 UTC 29 October. IMO’s 122 is not JMIC’s tally. There is no Update 110. UKMTO still ends at 189-26.
- Treat the new Ghana Prosperity row as an IMO print, not as a 182-26 PDF naming. IMO 9732541, 23 October, Strait of Hormuz, damaged, no pollution. That is a second row against the same hull; the 3 October Strait row remains. Dedicated Warning 182-26 remains an unnamed Verified Attack, 23 October 0839 UTC, outbound Hormuz, unknown projectile, vessel disabled, crew safe, no damage or environmental assessment. Dedicated 404/26 remains the cancelled Musandam anchorage; 410/26 cancelled it. Do not invent which UKMTO number is this hull. Do not restore 26-17.052N 056-33.35E from this board.
- Keep the type and size on the colour line, not on the board. Open-register colour only: Liberia, crude VLCC, about 333 m, 154,133 gt, 299,047 dwt, MMSI 636026121, Sinokor / Haut Brion 6 / Columbia. That is not Leonora Kosan, not Soyia, and not Cameroon Prosperity. Clearwater’s Liberia naming against the 0839 UTC clock is industry colour consistent with the IMO print, not a UKMTO revision. Ambrey’s 07:35 Oman TTW colour remains a different clock.
- Leave 185-26 through 189-26, RITI and Quba off this sheet, and leave one 114-to-119 increment unnamed. 189-26 remains this morning’s dedicated time-late crude-oil-tanker Attack. 188-26 remains last night’s dedicated Lavan projectile. 187-26 remains Friday morning’s dedicated Khasab attached-device Attack. 186-26 remains unused as dedicated. 185-26 remains Thursday’s dedicated 9 NM north-of-Khasab fire. 420/26 remains last night’s dedicated RITI fire-and-anchor. 417/26 remains Friday morning’s dedicated Quba wreck. 176-26 remains the dedicated Mukalla LNG skiff. Do not invent the still-unnamed increment from the +5.
- Hold Leonora Kosan and the rest of Tuesday’s sheet. Leonora Kosan remains 9390953, 23 October, 6 NM northeast of Limah, damaged, no pollution — Tuesday’s dedicated 121-count print, not this increment. Al Dasma still carries a second-attack row. Cape Dao remains sunk. Petro Dolphin remains two missing at Sohar. Cameroon Prosperity still carries 93151598 on the board; working number 9315159. Fatality line unchanged at 24.
- Do not recast Saturday afternoon as Update 110 or as a completed late-October tape. 186-26, 187-26, 188-26, 189-26 and 420/26 sit after Update 109’s 291300 UTC 29 October cut-off and are not on this IMO sheet. Do not recast 122 as a Hormuz reopen, a 182-26 PDF revision, a 404/26 restoration, or a pollution survey. Watch a later IMO as-at date, a UKMTO PDF that prints this hull, or a numbered Update 110 — not a silent conversion of this week’s unnamed Attacks.
Regulas Shipping will keep lining the IMO highlighted-incidents board against UKMTO numbered products and JMIC Update 109 so operators can treat Saturday’s 122-count and the new 23 October Ghana Prosperity print as an IMO instrument, not as a UKMTO naming or a Hormuz reopen.
