NAVWARN 779-26 records four drifting containers east of Burgas Bay

Bulgaria’s Navy Hydrographic Service, now carrying the English text on its in-force NAVWARN board, prints NAVWARN 779/26 as the working four-container watch east of Burgas Bay. The working primary is: NAVWARN 779/26 BLACK SEA. BULGARIA. EAST OF BURGAS BAY. FOUR DRIFTING CONTAINERS IN POSITIONS AT 010855 UTC NOV 26: 42-33N 028-09E 42-32N 028-11E 42-34N 028-16E 42-27N 028-13E. NAV DANGER. EXTREME CAUTION ADVISED. That is the product. It names four plots, it names a 010855 UTC 1 November sighting clock, and it upgrades the mariner instruction to extreme caution. It does not print a hull name, an IMO number, a dangerous-goods class list, a keep-clear radius, a wreck buoy, a least depth, a pollution volume, a salvage contract, a cancel time, or a port closure.

That is the working primary. Monday morning’s product is a numbered Burgas-approaches container watch, not a rewrite of Thursday afternoon’s dedicated NAVWARN 768/26 Contship Jet wreck southeast of Kaliakra, not a second drone attack, and not a conversion of Saturday night’s dedicated 777/26 Burgas cutter-331 survey onto a floating-box field. Same-board wrap, not second primaries: NAVWARN 780/26 BLACK SEA. BULGARIA. BURGAS GULF. DANGEROUS DRIFTING CONTAINER IN POSITION 42-10.4N 028-04.5E AT 011220 UTC NOV 26. CAUTION ADVISED. WIDE BERTH REQUESTED; and NAVWARN 781/26 BLACK SEA. BULGARIA. BURGAS GULF. DANGEROUS DRIFTING BOAT IN POSITION 42-22.6N 028-13.0E AT 011210 UTC NOV 26. CAUTION ADVISED. KEEP SAFETY DISTANCE. 780/26 and 781/26 sit on the same 1 November Burgas-Gulf tape, about three hours after 779/26’s 0855 UTC sighting. They are not this four-plot field. Masters who brief Monday morning as Contship Jet recovered, as a second Kaliakra hit, as Khoryv arriving off Burgas, or as cutter 331 already in the water will have merged four other series into a four-container watch that still withholds the parent hull.

What the warning actually printed

The hydrographic text is short and is the working primary. NAVWARN 779/26. Black Sea. Bulgaria. East of Burgas Bay. Four drifting containers in positions at 010855 UTC 1 November 2026: 42-33N 028-09E, 42-32N 028-11E, 42-34N 028-16E and 42-27N 028-13E. Navigation danger. Extreme caution advised. Stay with that wording. The board’s “NOV 26” is the two-digit year on a 1 November clock, the same convention as the rest of the Varna Radio tape, not a 2025 leftover. Do not invent a hull. Do not invent an IMO number. Do not invent flammable gases, non-flammable non-toxic gases or flammable liquids on this notice. Those classes sit on dedicated 768/26. They do not sit on 779/26. Do not invent a five-cable or one-nautical-mile circle around any of the four plots. 779/26 does not print one. Do not invent a wreck buoy, a light, a least depth, or a shoreline-pollution confirmation. The notice does not print those either. Do not invent a cancel clock. 779/26 is until further notice on the Monday morning in-force board.

The four plots are the first briefing fact. 42-33N 028-09E, 42-32N 028-11E, 42-34N 028-16E and 42-27N 028-13E sit east of Burgas Bay, not southeast of Cape Kaliakra. The four positions span on the order of seven nautical miles north–south and on the order of five nautical miles east–west. They are four contacts, not one wreck. 768/26 still puts Contship Jet sunk at 43-07.80N 028-45.36E, on the order of 40 nautical miles north-northeast of this field. 779/26 does not reprint that wreck, does not reprint IMO 9348625, and does not reprint the over-20-container class list. A DPA who briefs Monday morning as “the Kaliakra boxes, now off Burgas, still 768/26” has borrowed Thursday’s dedicated wreck instrument and has dropped the four new plots that are the whole of this NAVWARN. A DPA who briefs Monday morning as a completed container recovery because 768/26 already said over 20 adrift has under-read a later numbered watch that still prints four contacts and extreme caution.

The clock is the second briefing fact. 779/26 is 010855 UTC 1 November. Dedicated 768/26 is 282030 UTC 28 October — about 60 hours earlier, and about 40 nautical miles farther north. Dedicated 759/26 remains the 281000 UTC surface-drone hit at 43-15N 028-48E and is no longer the working caution. Same-board 780/26 is 011220 UTC at 42-10.4N 028-04.5E, a single dangerous drifting container in Burgas Gulf, wide berth requested. Same-board 781/26 is 011210 UTC at 42-22.6N 028-13.0E, a dangerous drifting boat in Burgas Gulf, keep a safety distance. Those two later products sit south of 779/26’s four-plot field. They are wrap on today’s 779/26, not a second Contship piece and not a third hull. Do not brief three container fields as three parent ships. Do not brief 781/26’s drifting boat as Khoryv. Dedicated 766/26 still holds Khoryv at 43-30.60N 028-43.69E, five cables, east of Shabla, IMO 8138712. 781/26 prints neither that name nor that IMO.

The instruction is the third briefing fact. 779/26 advises extreme caution and prints a navigation danger. It does not print a numeric berth. 780/26 requests a wide berth on the single southern container. 781/26 asks for a safety distance on the drifting boat. None of the three Sunday products reprints Khoryv’s five-cable circle, cutter 331’s three-cable survey berth, or KAIROS’s five-cable Burgas anchorage. Do not apply 766/26’s five cables to 779/26. Do not apply 777/26’s three cables to a floating-box field. Do not treat extreme caution as a Burgas, Varna, Constanta, Midia, Mangalia or Sulina closure. 775/26 remains Saturday morning’s dedicated two-hour e-mail to [email protected] before Bulgarian territorial-sea entry. 779/26 does not amend that mailbox, that two-hour lead, or the SP field list. A master shaping Burgas tonight still owes 775/26 its mail and still owes 779/26 a lookout for unlit boxes.

Industry colour of the same clock, held separately: SeaLagom first-seen the English 779/26 text at 1047 UTC on 1 November as a PAN PAN coastal, restating the four plots with hundredths (42-33.00N 028-09.00E and the three companions). Bulgarian National Radio Burgas, quoting the Executive Agency Maritime Administration, restated NAVIM 779 / 1 November 2026 with the same four plots in degrees and minutes and placed the notice against last week’s Contship Jet sinking as background. Those reprints are not a naming of the four boxes. Treat the BNR Contship sentence as agency colour of a possible parent, not as a 779/26 fact. 779/26 does not print Contship Jet. Do not promote a radio background paragraph onto this NAVWARN as a completed identification, a dangerous-goods class list, or a conversion of 768/26’s wreck plot onto Burgas Bay.

What this is not

This is not a rewrite of NAVWARN 768/26, and it is not a second Contship Jet sinking. Thursday afternoon’s dedicated NAVWARN 768/26 remains the working wreck-and-cargo instrument on M/V CONTSHIP JET, IMO 9348625, sunk at 282030 UTC 28 October in 43-07.80N 028-45.36E, over 20 containers adrift in that area, flammable gases, non-flammable non-toxic gases, flammable liquids and other dangerous goods, extreme caution advised. 768/26 is still on the Monday morning in-force board. 779/26 does not cancel it. Four boxes east of Burgas at 0855 UTC 1 November are not a move of the 43-07.80N wreck. They are not a completed salvage. They are not a second drone clock. Thursday morning’s dedicated 759/26 remains the surface-drone-hit file and is no longer the working caution. Do not restore 43-15N 028-48E as live. Do not brief Monday as a second hit on IMO 9348625. Do not brief Monday as 768/26 cancelled because four boxes are now plotted farther south.

This is not a rewrite of NAVWARN 766/26, and it is not a Khoryv arrival off Burgas. Thursday morning’s dedicated NAVWARN 766/26 remains the working Bulgarian five-cable keep-clear on M/V KHORYV, IMO 8138712, 43-30.60N 028-43.69E, east of Shabla, capsized, semi-submerged, drifting, without crew and lights. 766/26 is still on the same board. Friday’s dedicated Romanian Naval Authority naming remains the Khoryv casualty and search piece. 781/26’s unnamed drifting boat at 42-22.6N 028-13.0E is a Burgas-Gulf contact on a 011210 UTC clock. It is not IMO 8138712. Do not apply Khoryv’s five-cable circle to 779/26, 780/26 or 781/26. Do not collapse three missing seafarers onto a four-container watch.

This is not NAVWARN 777/26, and it is not Saturday afternoon’s dedicated Galata diving box. Saturday night’s dedicated NAVWARN 777/26 remains hydrographic cutter 331 in Burgas Bay, 030615–061600 UTC 3–6 November, mariners requested to maintain a safe distance of minimum three cables. Saturday afternoon’s dedicated NAVWARN 776/26 remains the four-corner diving prohibition south of Cape Galata, 030600–051430 UTC 3–5 November. Both remain in force on the Monday morning board. Neither has started. 779/26 is already a live container field. Do not merge a next-week survey berth or a Galata closed box onto four drifting containers. Do not treat cutter 331 as the parent of 781/26’s drifting boat. 777/26 names cutter 331. 781/26 does not.

This is not NAVWARN 775/26, and it is not a territorial-sea reporting rewrite. Saturday morning’s dedicated NAVWARN 775/26 remains the coast-wide two-hour e-mail to [email protected] with SP A / H+C / G / I / P / W / X fields before Bulgarian territorial-sea entry. 779/26 does not amend that mailbox. A master who treats four drifting containers as a substitute for the two-hour mail, or who treats the two-hour mail as a substitute for a lookout east of Burgas, has mixed a reporting instrument with a hazard instrument. Keep both numbers in the night orders.

This is not ARN 162/2026, and it is not a Romanian drifting-object rewrite. Sunday morning’s dedicated ARN 162/2026 placed a two-nautical-mile berth on an unnamed dangerous drifting object at 44-30.94 N 029-33.70 E and cancelled itself at 021000 UTC 2 November. That cancel clock has now passed. This desk has not retrieved ARN 163/2026. 779/26 is a Bulgarian four-container watch, not a Romanian object and not a two-nautical-mile circle. Do not restore 44-30.94 N as live. Do not apply ARN 162’s two-nautical-mile berth to Burgas Bay.

This is not Warning 192-26, and it is not a Hormuz product. Monday morning’s companion UKMTO Attack is a tanker struck by two unknown projectiles 72 nautical miles east of Ras Al Khafji. It does not name Contship Jet. NAVAREA IX still ends at 424/26 on the Pakistan Monday table, the unused 3–4 November live-weapon-firing box. This is not Update 111. Update 110, JMIC# 001 26, ICOD 011300 UTC 1 November, remains the last numbered public periodic note. This is not an International Maritime Organization 123-count. The highlighted-incidents board is still 122 confirmed / 24 seafarer fatalities as at 30 October. Contship Jet does not belong on that table. Same-board NAVWARN 93/26 remains the standing Burgas KAIROS five-cable keep-clear at 42-30.4N 027-48.1E; that hull is inside the bay, not this four-plot field. NAVWARN 739/26 remains a two-cable danger east of Primorsko at 42-14.04N 028-03.38E, near 780/26’s later single-container plot and unused as a rewrite.

Operational implications

For a master shaping Burgas, Varna, Constanta, Midia, Mangalia or the west-Black-Sea coastal track this morning, Thursday’s Kaliakra wreck is still there and Sunday’s Burgas-approaches box field is now there as well. 768/26 still puts a sunk containership at 43-07.80N 028-45.36E with over 20 dangerous-goods containers adrift in that area. 779/26 puts four drifting containers east of Burgas Bay at 42-33N 028-09E, 42-32N 028-11E, 42-34N 028-16E and 42-27N 028-13E from 0855 UTC 1 November. 780/26 adds a fifth contact, a single dangerous drifting container, at 42-10.4N 028-04.5E from 1220 UTC. 781/26 adds a drifting boat at 42-22.6N 028-13.0E from 1210 UTC. The NAVWARN still prints no radius on 779/26. The working instruction is extreme caution, a lookout for unlit boxes, and no assumption that the 18-saved ministry line on last week’s dedicated 759/26 piece, or the distance from Kaliakra, cancelled the cargo. A passage plan that only carried Thursday’s 43-07.80N wreck, or that treated the Bulgarian coast as a Khoryv-only problem because 766/26 is the five-cable circle, has not budgeted a four-plot field off Burgas and a single-container contact farther south.

For a DPA and an operator with feeders or general cargo on Haifa–Constanta, Piraeus–Varna, Piraeus–Burgas or any west-Black-Sea rotation this week, the reporting split is the operational content. Further sightings of containers, of a drifting boat, of pollution or of persons in the water belong with the coastal-state MRCC and with the company security officer, not with UKMTO 192-26. 779/26 does not order an armed team, a daylight-only transit, or a deviation around a published circle. It also does not authorise a master to treat the BNR Contship background sentence, the 421-container ministry figure from last week, or cutter 331’s three-cable survey as NAVWARN facts on this number. Log the warning number, the 010855 UTC clock, the four plots, the extreme-caution line, and the fact that 780/26 and 781/26 are same-day wrap on a single-container plot and a drifting boat farther south. Do not log a harbour closure, a wreck buoy, a Contship naming, or a completed recovery that the notice does not print.

For charterers and P&I, Monday morning is an open four-container watch on the Burgas approaches, sitting on the same board as last week’s named Kaliakra wreck, not a Hormuz fixture problem and not a Khoryv rewrite. Off-hire, deviation and cargo-claim conversations will now ask whether the ship was east of Burgas Bay after 0855 UTC on 1 November, whether it logged the four plots, whether it also carried 780/26 and 781/26, and whether 775/26’s two-hour mail went before territorial-sea entry. They will not be answered by 192-26, by 016-26, or by Saturday’s 122-count. The possible Contship parent remains a commercial question on agency colour; it is not a finding on 779/26. Do not convert a four-container NAVWARN into an attribution, a dangerous-goods class list, or a completed wreck-removal that 779/26 does not print.

Unlit boxes remain low in the water, radar-poor, and a contact hazard in darkness and in a seaway. 779/26 does not reprint last week’s near-gale tape and does not need to. Four contacts spread across several nautical miles east of Burgas are a lookout and speed problem on the Burgas and Constanta tracks, not a reason to invent a numeric keep-clear that 779/26 still withholds. Watch a later NAVWARN that names a hull against these plots, marks a wreck buoy, a least depth, a radius, a pollution line or a salvage; a later ministry or flag note that moves the 18 or the 421; or a container-recovery notice. Do not brief Monday as a completed hull recovery because the original ship is still printed as sunk 40 nautical miles to the north. Do not brief Monday as 768/26 cancelled because 779/26 now holds four plots of its own.

Keep the dedicated files on their own lines. 768/26 remains Thursday afternoon’s dedicated Contship Jet sunk piece and is still the working Kaliakra wreck. 759/26 remains Thursday morning’s dedicated surface-drone-hit file and is no longer the working caution. 766/26 remains Thursday morning’s dedicated Khoryv five-cable keep-clear and is still in force. 775/26 remains Saturday morning’s dedicated two-hour e-mail. 776/26 remains Saturday afternoon’s dedicated Galata diving-box piece. 777/26 remains Saturday night’s dedicated Burgas cutter-331 piece. ARN 162/2026 remains Sunday morning’s dedicated Romanian drifting-object piece and is now self-cancelled at 021000 UTC 2 November. 93/26 remains the standing Burgas KAIROS five-cable wrap. 192-26 is this morning’s companion Khafji Attack. Update 110 remains the last periodic Middle East threat note. 016-26 remains Wednesday afternoon’s blockade document pack. Do not recast 2 November morning as a second Contship attack, as a Khoryv move, as a Burgas closure, as Warning 192-26, as Update 111, or as a completed salvage.

What Operators Should Note

  • Log 779/26 as a four-container Burgas watch, not as a second Contship sinking and not as a 768/26 rewrite. NAVWARN 779/26, 010855 UTC 1 November. Black Sea, Bulgaria, east of Burgas Bay. Four drifting containers at 42-33N 028-09E, 42-32N 028-11E, 42-34N 028-16E and 42-27N 028-13E. Navigation danger. Extreme caution advised. Official English on the Navy Hydrographic Service in-force board. No hull, no IMO, no dangerous-goods class list, no radius, no wreck buoy, no least depth, no pollution volume, no cancel time, no port closure on this notice. This is not 768/26, not 766/26, not 777/26, and not ARN 162/2026.
  • Hold 780/26 and 781/26 as same-day wrap, not as second primaries. NAVWARN 780/26, 011220 UTC, Burgas Gulf, dangerous drifting container at 42-10.4N 028-04.5E, caution, wide berth requested. NAVWARN 781/26, 011210 UTC, Burgas Gulf, dangerous drifting boat at 42-22.6N 028-13.0E, caution, keep safety distance. Both sit south of 779/26’s four-plot field. Do not brief three parent ships. Do not brief 781/26 as Khoryv. Do not apply 766/26’s five cables or 777/26’s three cables to these plots.
  • Keep 768/26 as the working Kaliakra wreck. Dedicated 768/26 remains in force: CONTSHIP JET, IMO 9348625, sunk 43-07.80N 028-45.36E, 282030 UTC 28 October, over 20 containers adrift, flammable gases / non-flammable non-toxic gases / flammable liquids and other dangerous goods. That wreck sits on the order of 40 nautical miles north-northeast of 779/26. 779/26 does not cancel it. 759/26 remains the dedicated hit file and is no longer the working caution. BNR / Maritime Administration Contship colour stays colour. Do not promote it to a 779/26 naming.
  • Do not merge this watch onto Khoryv, KAIROS, cutter 331 or Hormuz. 766/26 remains in force: Khoryv, IMO 8138712, 43-30.60N 028-43.69E, five-cable keep-clear. 93/26 remains the standing Burgas KAIROS five-cable wrap at 42-30.4N 027-48.1E. 777/26 remains cutter 331 in Burgas Bay from 030615 UTC 3 November. 776/26 remains the Galata diving prohibition 3–5 November. 192-26 is a Khafji tanker Attack, not this box field. Update 110 remains last periodic note. IMO still 122 / 24 as at 30 October. 016-26 remains the blockade document pack. ARN 162/2026 self-cancelled at 021000 UTC 2 November; do not restore 44-30.94 N.
  • Brief extreme caution on the Burgas approaches, not a harbour shutdown. 779/26 advises extreme caution. It does not close Burgas, Varna, Constanta, Midia, Mangalia or Sulina. 775/26 remains the dedicated two-hour e-mail to [email protected] before territorial-sea entry; 779/26 does not replace that mail. Unlit boxes are a lookout and speed problem. Watch a later NAVWARN that names a hull against these plots, marks a wreck buoy, a keep-clear radius, a least depth, a pollution line or a salvage; a later ministry note that moves the 18 or the 421; or a flag/class statement. Do not brief Monday as a completed hull or cargo recovery.
  • SeaLagom / BNR colour only. SeaLagom first-seen 1047 UTC 1 November, PAN PAN, hundredths on the four plots. BNR Burgas restated NAVIM 779 against last week’s Contship Jet sinking as background. Neither reprint sits on the hydrographic primary as a hull naming. Do not promote either colour to a 779/26 fact.

Regulas Shipping will keep lining NAVWARN 779/26 against Thursday’s dedicated 768/26 wreck so operators can treat Monday’s product as a numbered four-container watch east of Burgas Bay, not as a second Contship attack, a Khoryv rewrite, a harbour closure, or a completed salvage.
